Clarena Larrotta has extensive work experience in academia. Clarena joined Texas State University in 2006 as a Professor, where their research primarily focused on language, culture, immigration, and adult, community & family learning. Clarena'sspecific areas of interest included English as a second language (ESL), adult literacy, and family literacy. Currently, Larrotta holds the position of Director of the Education Institute at Texas State University, a role they assumed in August 2021.
Clarena Larrotta earned a Master of Arts in English Teaching from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, between 1996 and 1999. Clarena then obtained a Ph.D. in Multilingual Studies - Bilingual Education from The University of Texas at Austin, from 2000 to 2005.
