Dara Curran

Senior Principal R&D Engineer at Text IQ

Dara Curran has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2002, Curran co-founded PelicanWeb and served as the Director and Chief Technical Officer. Curran was responsible for managing the company and developing web-based applications, focusing on content management systems. From 2003 to 2005, Curran worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the National University of Ireland, Galway, teaching C programming tutorials and developing course material. In 2006, Curran continued at the same university as an Applied Computing Teacher, delivering lectures and providing student support. Curran also worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow, conducting research on the simulation of cultural learning. From 2009 to 2012, Curran held various roles at the Cork Constraint Computation Centre, including Staff Scientist and Principal Investigator. During this time, Curran also worked as a Machine Learning Specialist at ThinkSmart Technologies. In 2012, Curran joined Cisco, starting as a Senior Software Engineer and later becoming a Technical Leader II. Curran played a key role in the transition team and the development of the CMX Analytics suite of products. In 2018, Curran joined Text IQ as a Senior Principal R&D Engineer.

Dara Curran obtained a B.Sc. degree in Information Technology from the University of Galway, studying from 1996 to 2000. Later, Dara pursued a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the same university, completing the program from 2002 to 2006.
