Derek Kraus

Derek Kraus is currently the CFO at TextUs. Derek has previous experience as the Vice President Finance at SolidFire, Inc. from July 2011 to August 2016. At SolidFire, they were in charge of the growth and development of all admin functions, including accounting, finance, HR, IT, sales and supply chain operations, international activities, and legal. The company grew from 20 to 450 employees in 7 countries under their leadership. Derek was also part of the acquisition team when it was sold to NetApp for $870 million in 2016.

Before working at SolidFire, Derek was the Director of Finance/Operations at Westwood College Online from August 2002 to November 2006. Derek helped start the college and it quickly grew to have revenues of $50MM in 4 years. Derek was directly responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Collections, Bookstore, HR, & Office Operations departments. Derek was also directly responsible for all financial budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting for the entire college. Derek created a profitable business unit through the creation of an online bookstore and by lowering overhead costs within academics through proper employee training and building software tools to assist departmental staff.

Derek Kraus reports to Martin Payne, CEO. Erich Hugunin - SVP, Channel Sales, Maggie Mistovich - VP of Marketing report to Derek Kraus. They are on a team with Cary Delbridge - VP, Sales, Emily Myers - VP, Account Management, and Doug Render - SVP, Product.
