Jeremy DeFatta has a diverse work experience. Jeremy started their career at Wabash College Campus Services as a Student Assistant, where they provided administrative support and managed work orders. Jeremy then worked as an Online Writing Tutor at SMARTHINKING, Inc. In 2009, they joined the University of Southern Mississippi as a Writing Center Administrative Tutor, where they tutored, proofread, and edited various written assignments. Jeremy also served as an Adjunct Composition Instructor and a Teaching and Research Assistant at the university.

In 2012, Jeremy became a Freelance Editor and Research Assistant as a self-employed writer. Jeremy later joined George Regional Health System as a Unit Clerk/Secretary, where they assisted nurses and doctors, managed administrative tasks, and facilitated patient transfers.

Jeremy co-founded Blue Spider Books & Wax in 2015, a monthly subscription service focusing on books, coffee, tea, and scented wax goods. Jeremy also co-owned and served as the Editor-in-Chief of Blue Spider Press, LLC, a small press that aimed to provide publication opportunities for everyone.

Additionally, Jeremy worked as an Adjunct Instructor of College Readiness English at Jones County Junior College, teaching and preparing students for more advanced college-level curricula.

Throughout their various roles, Jeremy has gained experience in administrative tasks, tutoring, editing, publishing, and teaching.

Jeremy DeFatta pursued their education chronologically, beginning with earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Wabash College in 2009. Jeremy then went on to obtain a Master of Arts (MA) degree in English Language and Literature, General from The University of Southern Mississippi between 2009 and 2012. Currently, they are attending LSU Shreveport and is expected to complete their Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA) in Business Administration and Management, General in 2023.
