Laila El-Haddad began their work experience in 2003 as a Gaza stringer for Aljazeera English, a role they held until 2006. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a freelance journalist, media consultant, and film director for The Guardian, Aljazeera, and the BBC. In 2007, Laila became a self-employed writer, where they authored books such as "Gaza Mom: Palestine, Politics, Parenting, and Everything in Between" and co-authored "The Gaza Kitchen: A Palestinian Culinary Journey." Additionally, they served as a policy advisor for Al-Shabaka, the Palestinian Policy Network.
Laila El-Haddad completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Comparative Areas Studies at Duke University. Laila then went on to pursue a Master's in Public Policy, specializing in Public Policy and international security at the Harvard Kennedy School from 2000 to 2002.
