Curtis Chappell, ISP®, has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Curtis started their career in 1997 in the U.S. Navy Reserve, where they served as an LCDR (Inactive Reservist) with a focus on force protection, security operations, and quality control. In 2003, Chappell joined GTS Group as a Charter Operations/Contract Airlift and Air Export Operations role, also serving as a Program Manager, Operations.

From 2007 to 2009, Chappell worked at Global Transportation Systems, Inc. as a Program Manager, Operations. Curtis then joined Advanced Acoustic Concepts in 2009 as a Trade Manager and Facility Security Officer. In this role, they managed trade compliance and oversaw the security transition during the company's acquisition and re-organization.

In 2010, Chappell joined Leonardo DRS as a Senior Director, Corporate Security. Curtis held this position until 2017. During their time at Leonardo DRS, they were responsible for corporate security initiatives.

In 2017, Chappell moved to Thales Defense & Security, Inc. where they held the position of Director, Corporate Security until 2022. Curtis was then promoted to Vice President, Corporate Security (Proxy), where they served as the principal advisor to the CEO and GSC on safeguarding classified information and protecting national security interests. Curtis also ensured compliance with government regulations and FOCI mitigation requirements.

Chappell's experience also extends to their involvement with organizations such as NCMS, Inc. - The Society of Industrial Security Professionals, where they served on the national board of directors starting in 2020. Additionally, they worked as an Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer at Kings Point Alumni (GMATS) c/o MAI, teaching a course on Freight Logistics Management & Customs Brokerage.

Curtis Chappell obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Curtis also holds additional certifications including Insider Threat Program Implementation and Operations Certificate from Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University, obtained in February 2015, FBI Citizens Academy Program Certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), obtained in November 2014, and Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification from NCMS, Inc. - The Society of Industrial Security Professionals, obtained in April 2012.
