Richard Tranfield

Director Business Development, Army Programs at Thales Defense & Security

Richard Tranfield has a diverse range of work experience in business development and leadership roles. Starting in 1997, they founded their own consulting firm, International Business Consultants, before moving on to become the Director of Business Development & Strategic Alliances at L3 Communications. Richard then served as a Senior Marketing Manager at BAE Systems, where they led the capture of three Army communications systems and was responsible for four Future Combat Systems proposals. Afterwards, they worked as the Director of Business Development for the Army division of BAE, where they directed a team and managed a significant budget. Richard then served as the Director of Business Development at BAE Systems, where they led a team responsible for identifying, qualifying, and capturing advanced technology business. Subsequently, Richard joined Rhode & Schwarz as an Account Manager in the Aerospace & Defense division. From there, they became a Principal and Co-Founder at Advanced TechnologySource, focusing on the introduction and sale of innovative aerospace technologies. Richard continued to advance their career in business development as the Director of Business Development at Thales Communications, and later as a Corporate Account Executive at Rockwell Collins. Most recently, they served as the Director of Business Development for Army Programs at Thales Defense & Security, Inc., leading efforts to enhance customer relationships and secure new business in the US Army Ground systems sector.

Richard Tranfield attended Kenyon College from 1977 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. Richard subsequently pursued further education at The Ohio State University from 1982 to 1984, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
