Theo Rijks

Theo Rijks is an experienced professional in the field of cryogenic cooling and technology management. Currently serving as Program Manager Space at Thales Defense & Security, Inc. since January 2019, Theo oversees significant projects related to cryogenic coolers for satellite instrument cooling. Previously, within Thales from April 2011 to January 2019, Theo held roles as NPIE/Work Cell Manager Space and Program Manager, focusing on production facilities for high-end and custom cryogenic coolers. Prior experience includes various engineering and leadership positions at Philips Medical Systems - BiometriX from April 1996 to April 2011, where responsibilities ranged from managing multidisciplinary teams for X-ray sensor production to optical development and research in material science. Theo holds a PhD and MSc in Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology, obtained in 1996 and 1992 respectively.
