Sarah Abood

Sarah Abood's work experience includes founding and serving as the CEO of Thawrih, a culturally appropriate activewear company that provides meaningful work to newly arrived refugees and immigrants. Sarah began this role in March 2017 and the company has grown significantly, gaining recognition for its ethical, environmental, and human rights efforts.

In 2019, Sarah worked as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Giant Tiger, a position they held until June 2020.

Prior to this, Sarah worked at the Canada Revenue Agency from November 2016 to May 2018 as a Performance Management and Recognition Associate. In this role, they provided administrative support on projects and case management, including data entry, file and document management, and provision of reports used by performance management advisors and recognition program coordinators.

From April 2015 to November 2017, Sarah worked as a Logistics Assistant at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Sarah Abood completed their Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the University of Ottawa in 2018. During their time at the university, they also pursued a Minor in Economics.
