Flora Peir

Flora Peir is the news editor. She oversees the daily news operation and finds the gender lens on the nation’s biggest stories. An 18-year veteran of The New York Times and graduate of the Asian American Journalist Association’s executive leadership program, she has been a line editor and headline writer for local, national and international news; an assignment editor for late-breaking news; and for the last four years, helped decide what makes the Times’ national print section.
