Advocate Program, Inc.

Advocate Program, Inc. is a multi-faceted, community agency whose mission is to facilitate social change and enhance public safety through leadership, research, education, supervision, and services, utilizing best and evidence-based practices. Advocate Program is a private, not-for-profit, 501 c(3) agency offering probation, diversion, community service, DUI School, traffic school, domestic violence programs and substance abuse and mental health evaluations and treatment to the Courts and citizens of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The Program is a full service criminal justice agency that has provided offender supervision services since 1971. The Program began providing misdemeanor and traffic probation supervision in 1975 and since March of 1992, has been the sole provider of these services. The Program has provided pretrial diversion programs since 1978 under the auspices of the State Attorney's Office. In 1992 in conjunction with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s new Domestic Violence Court, the Advocate Program created the Domestic Violence Unit. The Program opened the Advocate DUI School in July of 1995. This state-licensed program provides the required DUI services to court-ordered and voluntary clients in Miami-Dade County. It has expanded to work with juveniles and families in the juvenile justice field, and to work with families impacted by family conflict and domestic violence.
