Brian Johnson is a Remote Sensing Scientist at The Aerospace Corporation, specializing in technical analysis of remote sensing technologies and their impact on Department of Defense and NOAA operational weather missions since January 2020. Prior to this role, Brian served as Deputy University Director at the USGS North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center and as Director of the Analytics Hub at CU/CIRES Earth Lab, where significant contributions were made towards accelerating environmental science through data utilization. Additional experience includes leadership roles at ENVIRONMENTAL SENSING, L.L.C., the National Snow and Ice Data Center, Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, NEON, Inc., Ball Aerospace, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research, with a focus on system engineering and remote sensing applications. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Space Sciences from the University of Michigan and both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
