Scott G. Putnam

Scott G. Putnam, Ph. D., currently serves as a Senior Project Leader at The Aerospace Corporation, focusing on mission engineering for various space launches and providing mission assurance for non-NSSL launch vehicles. Previously, Scott held senior engineering roles at SAIC and the United States Air Force, including Deputy Commander of the 30th Launch Group and Commander of the 18th Space Control Squadron, where responsibilities encompassed mission assurance for all US government and commercial launches, space situational awareness, and collision threat analysis. Scott's academic background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and experience as an Assistant Professor of Astronautics, where courses centered on astronautics and rocket propulsion were taught, along with mentorship of capstone projects. Notable achievements include leading mission assurance for NRO launches and system engineering for Delta IV and Atlas V rockets.
