Amr El Mougy

Amr El Mougy currently serves as the Director of the Robotics, Control, and Smart Systems Graduate Program and is an Associate Professor at The American University in Cairo, a position held since August 2023. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at The German University in Cairo from January 2014 to August 2023, where responsibilities encompassed roles as Associate Professor, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs in the Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology, and Assistant Professor. Amr is also a co-founder of Preventia Technologies and has conducted research as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Ottawa University, focusing on wireless broadband networks for public safety. Earlier academic roles included project coordination and instruction at Queen's University and teaching fellowships in computer networks. Amr holds a PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Queen's University, with prior degrees from Concordia University and Ain Shams University.
