Zheng Shao

Zheng Shao is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in big data and engineering management. Currently serving as a Hadoop PMC Member and Hive PMC Member at The Apache Software Foundation since July 2008, Zheng previously held the positions of Distinguished Engineer at Uber, Engineering Manager at Dropbox, and Senior Engineering Manager at Facebook, where significant contributions were made to database systems and data transport mechanisms. Zheng co-founded Bluesky and served as CTO from March 2022 to December 2022. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua University.
