Stephanie Lareau serves as the Medical Director at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and works as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Carilion Clinic since July 2013. In addition, Stephanie holds the position of Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Wilderness Medicine Fellowship Director at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine since January 2014. As a co-founder and lead instructor of Blue Ridge Adventure Medicine, and a board member of both the Wilderness Medical Society and The Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine, Stephanie has made significant contributions to educational initiatives in wilderness medicine. Stephanie completed residency as Chief Resident at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and received medical training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, following a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
