Matt Kamibayashi currently serves as a Senior Research Associate at The Asian American Foundation, beginning in August 2023. Previous roles include Public Policy Fellow at the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston, where engagement with the Boston Public Health Commission focused on promoting behavioral health among AAPI youth. Matt also worked as a Research Fellow at the National Parents Union, monitoring legislative threats to student rights and authoring a policy paper. Additionally, as Managing Editor for the Asian American Policy Review at Harvard Kennedy School, oversight included outreach to AAPI researchers and reviewing policy submissions. Experience as a School Governance Council Member and High School English Teacher in Fulton County Schools provided insight into school operations and collaboration with diverse community representatives. Earlier teaching experience in the UK further enriched educational qualifications. Matt holds a Master of Education from Harvard University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Converse University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Patrick Henry College.
