Katya Wanzer is the Senior Program Associate for the Health, Medicine and Society Program at the Aspen Institute. Katya has an extensive background in public health, spanning from AIDS research in San Francisco at the height of the epidemic through Environmental/Occupational Health monitoring directly after 9/11 in New York City, to promoting Health IT adoption and emergency response services for the Virginia Department of Health. Born and raised in New Mexico, Katya earned a BA in Humanities from San Francisco State University, a Master of Public Health degree from Hunter College in New York City, and a Health IT career certificate from Northern Virginia Community College. She is currently a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.
