Valerie Trapp currently serves as the Assistant Editor for Culture, Family, & Books at The Atlantic since October 2023. Previously, Valerie held the Stanford University Steve Steinberg Reporting Award in June 2022 and completed an internship at STANFORD Magazine from September 2021 to February 2022. Additionally, Valerie contributed as a Parliamentary Debate Coach for the Sequoia Union High School District from September 2019 to January 2022. As an intern at the Council on Foreign Relations from January to May 2021, Valerie edited articles and reports for a think tank with substantial monthly traffic. In the same timeframe, Valerie worked as a Film/TV Development Intern at Delirious Media, researching and covering various creative projects for notable director Jay Roach. Prior experience includes a research internship at ANSES, where research was conducted on financial inclusion in Latin America, and a role as a Congressional Debate Instructor at Champion Briefs. Valerie Trapp earned a Bachelor's degree in English and International Relations from Stanford University and also studied at the University of Oxford in early 2022.
