Roderick Campbell serves as the Research Director at The Australia Institute since August 2013, where oversight of the research team occurs at one of Australia’s leading policy think tanks. With a background as an economist, Roderick specializes in project assessment, cost-benefit analysis, economic modeling, and the coal industry in Australia. Additionally, Roderick holds the position of Honorary Fellow at Deakin University since July 2021 and previously served as Director at Economists at Large from January 2008 to October 2013, focusing on climate, energy, tourism, agriculture, and international development while often engaging in pro bono work for community groups and NGOs. Roderick's educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Geography, both from the University of Melbourne.
