Lance Wee

Lance Wee is an accomplished leader in asset management with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as the General Manager of Asset Management at TransGrid since June 2012, Lance oversees all aspects of asset lifecycle performance and compliance with ISO55001 standards, managing a portfolio worth $7 billion and capital expenditures totaling $250 million annually. Prior roles include Head of Asset Management and National Substations Manager at Downer, focusing on business development, compliance, and operational efficiencies. Additionally, Lance holds a Master of Business Administration from AGSM @ UNSW and has been a board member at the Australian Power Institute since March 2020. A strong advocate for continuous improvement, Lance has developed numerous policies, procedures, and frameworks that enhance project delivery and customer satisfaction within TransGrid.

The API will encourage industry-sponsored and supported research with the intention that multi-campus Centres of Excellence in disciplines relevant to the industry’s future will thrive at Australian universities.
