Amy Pawley

Locality Manager, Scarborough & Botton at The Avalon Group (APS)

Having had lots of experience as a Service Manager for Avalon, she is proud to have stepped up to lead the Scarborough and Botton services.

She left school and worked in Germany at a riding centre for the MOD. She then returned to the UK, and after a few jobs started her career in health and social care.

She worked in a Dementia care home as a carer firstly. She then worked for Salisbury District Hospital in their spinal unit as a nursing assistant. This was an amazing experience working in rehabilitation. She started working for Hampshire county council in 2014 as a residential support worker in a specialised respite unit for learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

She knew this was her calling and loved the varied work she could do with the customers. She took some time out from care to run a business with her partner. When covid-19 hit, she took the decision that she wanted to return to care industry, she sold the business and she became a team leader in supported living. Her partner became a shared lives carer and that’s when she joined Avalon.
