Levi Gonzalez is a Policy Associate at The Bail Project, a position held since July 2022, and previously served as a Policy Fellow at the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators from November 2020 to November 2021, focusing on media and technology policy research. Prior experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Riverside, and a Public Policy Intern at National Community Renaissance, where Levi researched state policies impacting non-profit affordable housing. Early work experience includes a Sales Associate position at Kohl's and an internship with Representative Mark Takano, dealing primarily with constituent communication and clerical tasks. Levi holds a Master’s in Public Policy and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, both from the University of California, Riverside.

The Bail Project is a non-profit organization designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system ‒ one person at a time.They believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements fordecarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens of sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income people.They won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.
