Amie Byron

Amie Byron is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in occupational therapy and disability services. Currently serving as Project Lead, Senior Occupational Therapist, Team Leader, and Manager (during a ten-week secondment) at The Benevolent Society since August 2017, Amie has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities. Previous roles include Occupational Therapist at the Department of Family and Community Services (NSW) Ageing, Disability and Home Care, providing interventions for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Disability Support Worker at Dolleina, where Amie supported clients in achieving greater independence. Additional experience includes working as an Occupational Therapist at Living Strength OT, focusing on a diverse caseload, and completing internships during studies at The University of Newcastle, which included placements in both intellectual disability and mental health rehabilitation settings. Amie holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Newcastle and a Diploma of Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors.
