Adam was born in Cheshire and completed a degree in Broadcast Technology. He worked as sound and vision engineer at Cream nightclub and for TV shows but mainly concerts and festivals around the UK and Europe before making a career change, moving to Yorkshire and going into education.
He worked for over 10 years as a teacher of physics in schools across West Yorkshire and had roles as Head of Department and also Leader of Teaching and Learning which is something he is very passionate about. In 2015 he started work at the now renamed National STEM Learning Centre (was the National Science Centre) in York as a Subject Expert Lead, leading CPD courses, recognition schemes and educational programmes. He led the bid and is the educational lead on the £1 million Polar Explorer Programme which has engaged 1000’s of schools across the UK and has a keen interest on ensuring cutting edge science and STEM careers are promoted in schools from primary all the way to further education and beyond. He is also the lead on Science Mark which recognises the impact of great science teaching in schools and boosting the image of all STEM subjects within schools. He sits on many advisory boards and was part of the team that developed and designed the WonderLab at the National Science and Media museum in Bradford.
Adam lives in Pudsey, where he is married to Kerry who is a teacher at a local school and has two boys, one of which attends St Josephs in Pudsey. He is also a football coach for his local team Pudsey Juniors, and is a keen runner completing half marathons and even a 24hr endurance relay.
Adam is also a member of the Trust Audit and Risk Committee.
