Sr. Director of Sales – Walmart/Sam’s Club

We are seeking a Sr. Director of Sales to lead and expand our Grocery business unit, strategically aligning with Walmart and Sam’s Club. Based in Bentonville, Arkansas, this role drives strategic partnerships, develops growth opportunities, and fosters innovation for both grocery and select toy and sporting goods clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to align client objectives with Walmart and Sam’s Club’s priorities, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

  • Business Development: Identify and secure new client partnerships through networking, trade shows, and proactive outreach, expanding our grocery portfolio.

  • Client & Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of fast-growing, innovative brands, focusing on merchandising, pricing, promotions, and category management.

  • Walmart/Sam’s Club Relationships: Act as a trusted partner and primary contact for Walmart and Sam’s Club category buyers, building and maintaining high-impact relationships.

  • Omni-Channel Integration: Leverage Walmart’s digital and physical retail strategies to maximize client opportunities across eCommerce and in-store channels.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Bluebird’s internal teams to ensure operational excellence, data-driven insights, and a seamless client experience.

  • Portfolio Oversight: Manage select toy and sporting goods accounts during their integration within the Grocery business unit.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in sales or account management within consumer goods, ideally focused on Walmart or Sam’s Club.

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to align client objectives with retailer priorities to deliver measurable results.

  • Industry Knowledge: Expertise in grocery and general merchandise categories; familiarity with toys or sporting goods is a plus.

  • Skills: Advanced P&L management, financial analysis, and project management capabilities.

  • Digital Tools: Proficiency in sales analytics and forecasting tools to drive insights and performance.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of taking initiative and driving success.

  • Experience managing omni-channel strategies across Walmart platforms (eCommerce and physical stores).

  • Background in digital advertising or retail media within Walmart Connect or Sam’s Club Member Access Platform (MAP).

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with cross-functional teams and executives.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel for client needs, trade shows, and business opportunities.
