Michiel van Leeuwen

Michiel van Leeuwen is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in obesity medicine and pharmaceutical management. Currently serving as the Global Medical Head for Obesity at AstraZeneca and heading the online clinic at The Body Clinic since May 2024, Michiel also works as a consultant for InnoStrat ApS, providing strategic advice to management and the Board of Directors. Previously, Michiel held multiple roles at Novo Nordisk, including Vice President of Medical Affairs for Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease, and was involved in the development of significant diabetes and obesity medications. Additionally, Michiel has a diverse background in addiction medicine, aesthetic medicine, and emergency medicine, complemented by academic research in tissue engineering. Michiel holds a PhD in Medicine and has pursued advanced education in global management and executive development.
