Maya Shavit

Maya Shavit is an accomplished journalist and social media director with a strong background in political reporting and graphic design. Currently serving as the Social Media Director for the Boston University Society of Professional Journalists, Maya coordinates content and events for journalism students. As Co Editor in Chief of The Boston Political Review, the largest nonpartisan political paper at Boston University, Maya has contributed significantly to political discourse. Maya's reporting experience includes roles at the Boston Business Journal, where coverage focused on nonprofit news and equity, and as a Statehouse Correspondent for CommonWealth Beacon. Additionally, Maya has been recognized as an Emerging Leader with Tomorrow's Women TODAY, and recently completed the Dow Jones News Fund Fellowship, honing skills in business reporting. With a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Boston University and ongoing master's studies, Maya combines academic expertise with practical journalistic skills.
