Kathleen Spees

Principal at The Brattle Group

Kathleen Spees is the current principal at The Brattle Group. Kathleen has also worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, a visiting researcher at the Center for the Study of Science Technology and Policy, and a research intern at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Spees has always been interested in how technology can be used to improve policy. Her work has focused on cost-benefit analysis of electric advanced metering options in India within the context of low power quality, large agricultural subsidies, and high aggregated technical and commercial losses.

Kathleen is passionate about finding ways to use technology to make a positive impact on the world. In their current position at The Brattle Group, they are continuing their work on finding ways to use technology to improve policy.

Kathleen Spees has a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from Iowa State University.
