Michael James Colby

Michael James Colby has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Michael James is currently working as the Principal of Energy and Utilities Transportation at The Cadmus Group since September 2023. Previously, from 2018 to 2023, they worked at Xcel Energy. At Xcel Energy, their roles included Manager of Clean Transportation Product Development, Electric Transportation Strategy & Policy Principal, and Product Developer. Michael James successfully designed and launched the Minnesota Electric Vehicle Subscription Service Pilot, which received recognition for being the Smartest Transportation Electrification Project of 2020. Before Xcel Energy, they worked at E Source as a Senior Consultant and Research Manager in Demand-Side Management. Michael James also briefly worked at Mothership Energy Group as a Senior Consultant. Prior to that, they held positions at San Diego Gas & Electric as a Senior Business/Economics Advisor and Customer Programs Advisor. Michael James started their career as an Economist at MarketPointe Realty Advisors and also worked as an Instructor of Macroeconomics at San Diego State University.

Michael James Colby obtained a Master's Degree in Economics from San Diego State University, which they pursued from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from San Francisco State University, attending from 2001 to 2003.
