Vanessa Meier

Director, Grants Management at The California Community Foundation

Vanessa Meier supports the grants team in conducting general fund management for all donors, administering donor-recommended grants and ensuring grants comply with current IRS charitable giving guidelines.

Before joining CCF in 2015, Meier was the environmental grants and clothing donations coordinator for Patagonia Santa Monica. Previously, she served as a commissioner on the City of Santa Monica’s Measure V Committee, an advisory role to the city council for the purpose of implementing urban runoff water quality improvement projects within the city. She also served as the clean water director and executive committee member for the Surfrider Foundation West Los Angeles/Malibu chapter. Meier earned her master’s in geology from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in climate dynamics and gas geochemistry and earned her bachelor’s in geology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
