Eric Forgy

Eric Forgy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Eric is currently the Founder of The CavalRe since 2020. Prior to that, they were the Founder of Coherent Asia, Limited from 2016 to 2019 and Co-Founder of Axia Corporation, Limited from 2016 to 2018. Eric also founded Coherent Capital Advisors, Limited in 2013 and served as the Founder, where they built a strong ALM consulting team, developed a proprietary ALM platform, and implemented an integrated regional ALM framework.

Before founding Coherent Capital Advisors, Limited, Eric worked as the Head of Risk Management at AIA International Ltd - Hong Kong & Macau Branch in 2013, where they were responsible for overseeing financial and operational risk management. Eric also led a major inter-departmental project on strategic asset allocation and improved risk assessment procedures.

From 2010 to 2013, Eric worked at ING Insurance Asia/Pacific as the Regional Manager - Market and Investment Risk. Eric led the establishment of an investment risk management function and enhanced regional capabilities. Eric also improved approval processes for new investment mandates and assisted with ALM reviews.

Prior to their role at ING Insurance Asia/Pacific, Eric worked as a Senior Risk Manager at Harvest Global Investments Limited from 2009 to 2010. Eric successfully transitioned equity assets and developed risk governance frameworks. Eric also provided marketing support.

Earlier in their career, Eric held positions at Trust Company of the West, Countrywide Capital Markets (now Bank of America), and Capital Group, Capital Strategy Research. At Trust Company of the West, they served as the VP of Quantitative Investment Strategies. At Countrywide Capital Markets, they worked as the VP of Fixed Income Research and developed novel numerical algorithms for bond analytics. At Capital Group, they worked as a Quantitative Research Analyst, supporting portfolio managers and industry analysts in various investment strategies.

Overall, Eric Forgy has extensive experience in risk management, asset liability management, strategic asset allocation, investment risk, and quantitative analysis. Eric has a strong background in finance and has demonstrated a track record of successfully implementing strategies and building teams.

Eric Forgy obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from California State University, Fresno, from 1989 to 1994. Eric then pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, from 1996 to 2002. Additionally, Eric Forgy obtained a certification as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst from the CAIA Association in April 2009.
