Gary MacNamara is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public safety and leadership roles. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Public Safety & Government Affairs and an Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University since October 2018, Gary provides instruction in Risk Management and decision-making. Additionally, Gary holds the position of Chairman of the White Ribbon Campaign and is a governor-appointed member of the Connecticut Hate Crime Council, where Gary chairs the Law Enforcement Committee. Gary's previous experience includes serving as Police Chief and Officer at the Fairfield CT Police Department from 1988 to 2018 and delivering presentations on topics such as police officer wellness and trauma-informed policing. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from the University of New Haven and attendance at the FBI National Academy.
