The Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance
Where Global Reach meets Local Impact. The World Health Organisation recognises that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the greatest dangers threatening health worldwide. At the CGPS we are committed to fighting this threat both globally, and locally. We do this through a combination of delivering AMR surveillance strategies at scale, by facilitating rapid data analysis and by enabling the training of experts worldwide. We have developed and implemented a unique and sustainable approach to building capacity in lower and middle-income countries (LMICs) in sequencing, informatics, financial management, data collection and analysis. Working in partnership with the World Health Organisation, Wellcome, Gates Foundation, the US CDC and European CDC, the US and UK National Institutes of Health, and UK Public Health organisations, we are able to extend a truly global reach, translating directly into local impacts.
