Derrick Gibbs

Derrick was born and raised in Kansas City, KS, where most of his family still lives. He went to Highland Community College on a football scholarship right out of high school. From there, he received another scholarship to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

While in college, Derrick played Defensive End and Outside Linebacker. He has served as a team captain on multiple football teams in the past and was a member of the Players Association in college. After moving back to Kansas City, he served on the advisory board for the Black Excellence of Kansas City, a nonprofit organization that connects, develops, and retains talent in the city. He was also a part of a select group called the Loop of KC. Their mission was to connect unique minds who are professionally driven and build genuine friendships to positively impact Kansas City. His passion to help people has led him to Greater St. Louis where he is looking to make an impact on the lives of the community.
