Nicole Orange is a Principal with Chartis and a leader within the Revenue Cycle practice. She brings over 15 years of revenue cycle strategy and operations experience to Chartis. Nicole’s clients include large hospitals, academic medical centers, integrated delivery systems, payers, and physician practices. She has experience in revenue cycle process improvement and optimization, change management, merger and acquisition support, organizational design, project management, and strategic planning.
Nicole’s recent engagements include leading the execution of a revenue cycle transformation for an $18B health system. She developed A/R outsourcing strategies, designed and implemented a Pre-Access Financial Clearance unit, optimized the Revenue Integrity process, and deployed denial reduction action plans to drive over $70M in cash benefit to the health system. Nicole has also supported the implementation and optimization of Epic at several health systems across the US.
Prior to joining Chartis, Nicole was a Director in PwC’s Revenue Performance Management group. She led large-scale transformational engagements and health information system implementations and was viewed as a subject matter expert in the areas of Patient Access and Patient Financial Services. She also worked in KPMG’s Maryland-based provider reimbursement practice supporting clients by analyzing the financial impact of HSCRC regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Nicole serves as a second-term board member for the Philadelphia Metro HFMA chapter. She leads the planning and execution of the chapter’s two marquee events, the Spring Institute and Fall Institute. In 2022, she was the Edward Mallon award recipient recognizing her outstanding contribution to the healthcare finance field. Nicole is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) and a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR). Additionally, Nicole is certified in Epic’s Grand Central and Prelude modules.
Nicole is an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and holds a Master of Health Science degree in health finance and management from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University with a concentration in health policy and administration.
