Karoline Kijowski has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Karoline started their career in 2011 as a Receptionist at Antares Institute of Integrative Health and worked there until 2014. In 2014, they joined The Duck Inn Chicago as a Host and remained there until 2016. Karoline then transitioned to The Chicago Lighthouse in 2015 and assumed the role of Developmental Assistant until 2018. During this time, they also served as a Special Events Coordinator from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they joined Northwestern Memorial Foundation as a Philanthropy Coordinator, specializing in Special Events, and stayed there until their recent move to The Chicago Lighthouse in 2021. In their current position, they hold the role of Senior Manager, Special Events.

Empowering Community Independence The Chicago Lighthouse is the most comprehensive agency serving people who are blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veterans in the United States. Each of our 40 programs and services are designed to help individuals of all ages, races, income levels, and abilities reach the same goal: to live as confidently and independently as possible. In addition, The Lighthouse has developed several Social Enterprise businesses in the areas of Customer Service, Digital Accessibility Consulting, Manufacturing and Shipping that serve the dual purpose of providing our clients with accessible, inclusive jobs and generating revenue to support our clinical and social service programs.
