Alvin Farrel

Alvin Farrel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in bioinformatics and computational biology, currently serving as the Associate Director of the Center for Childhood Cancer Research Computational Biology Core at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since February 2018. With a strong background as a Supervisory Bioinformatics Scientist and Bioinformatics Scientist II, Alvin has led teams in cancer bioinformatics and contributed to research on pediatric solid tumors using multi-omics approaches. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health focusing on immune cell regulatory mechanisms and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Alvin's academic credentials are complemented by degrees in Biochemistry and Computer Science from Loma Linda University and Andrews University, respectively.
