Robin Foster

Robin Foster is the GC & EVP at The Children's Mercy Hospital. Robin joined Husch Blackwell LLP in August 1982 as an Associate and was elected to the partnership January 1, 1989. Robin served on management committees of the firm, including three years on the firm's governing board. Robin has a total of 31 years of experience in private practice with the firm, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions, corporate governance, regulatory complicance, licensing and commercial transactions.

Her experience is heavily weighted in the areas of healthcare, medical devices and energy. Other areas included chemical industry and banking. Robin served as lead counsel in numerous public and private merger transactions, including hospitals and healthcare systems, managed care organizations, medical device manufacturers, medical gas distributors, durable medical equipment distributors, electric and gas public utitlities and coops, gas pipelines, energy exploration and production companies, banks and bank holding companies, insurance companies, chemical companies and other manufacturers.

Her corporate governance experience included counseling healthcare system and other nonprofit boards, and other public and private boards concerning fiduciary duties, director independence requirements, shareholder agreements, shareholder disputes, hostile tender offers, takeover defenses, and executive compensation.

Robin advised clients on regulatory requirements and compliance obligations in numerous areas, including FDA, healthcare regulation, financial industry regulation, and regulation of public utilitites. Robin guided boards of directors in federal and state civil and criminal investigations.

Robin assisted clients with licensing of intellectual property (both for inventors and licensees), commercial transactions involving sales of goods and services, distributor and sales agency agreements, and other commercial arrangements.

Robin Foster has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics and Business Administration from Westminster College (MO).
