Ray Descombes

Ray Descombes is an experienced clerical professional currently serving as Associate Priest in the Parish of Becontree South within The Church of England since July 2018. Prior to this role, Ray held the position of Ordinand at the Church of England - Diocese of Chelmsford from September 2014 to July 2018, where studies for Ordination were pursued at St Mellitus College. Ray also served as Lay Chair for the Deanery of Barking and Dagenham from May 2011 to July 2018 and worked as Senior Community Development Officer for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham from April 1988 to April 2013. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Philosophy & Religion from Heythrop College, University of London, and a BA with Hons in Philosophy from Birkbeck, University of London, complemented by a foundational education at Borehamwood Grammar School.
