Kevin Nance has extensive work experience in law enforcement and public safety. Kevin began their career as a Senior Residential Supervisor at Dallas County in 1986 and remained in this role until 2003. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Licensed Police Officer at The University of Texas at Arlington. Kevin then joined Dallas County again in 2005 as a Sergeant, where they held various responsibilities such as Traffic Division, Field Training Officer, Warrants, and Writs. In 2011, they briefly worked as an Embedded Mentor (Police) at DynCorp International LLC. Later on, they joined The City of Balch Springs, where they served as the Chief Marshal from 2012 to 2023. During this time, they also held the positions of Director of Public Safety and Chief Operating Officer.
Kevin Nance has a diverse education history. Kevin obtained a high school diploma in General Studies from Lakenheath High School in London, England in 1979. Additionally, they earned another high school diploma in General Studies from Cooper High School in an unspecified year.
In 2001, Kevin Nance attended Tarrant County College, where they pursued an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections. Kevin completed this program in 2003.
Furthermore, Kevin Nance has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2003, they became a Police Officer through The University of Texas at Arlington. Subsequently, they acquired the SWAT certification from the Arlington Police Department in 2004. Kevin furthered their knowledge by attaining the Crisis Intervention Instructor and Tecole Basic Instructor certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) in 2005. In 2005, they also completed the Managment of Training certification from The Center for American and International Law.
Continuing their professional development, Kevin Nance completed the FBI Command College at The University of Texas at El Paso in 2014 and became a Master Peace Officer through TCOLE in 2016. Most recently, they obtained the Certified Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the International Six Sigma Institute™ in July 2021.
