Ray Proctor has a diverse work experience. Ray started their career in 1993 at Huttig Building Products, where they worked as a Window Manufacturer. Ray'sresponsibilities included assembling door and window units, loading trucks for shipment, and operating a forklift for in-house arrangements and maintenance duties.

In 1995, Ray joined the City of Rocky Mount, where they held multiple roles. Ray started as a Surface Water Treatment Operator, where they monitored and made necessary chemical changes to maintain proper treatment parameters. Ray also ensured the operational ranges of elevated water storage tanks and completed all necessary paperwork. In 2004, Ray was promoted to Chief Operator, managing two Water Treatment Plants with a maximum production capacity of 30 M.

Ray Proctor earned their High School Diploma from Northern Nash High School from 1989 to 1992. Ray then went on to attend Nash Community College from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a Machining Certificate in the field of study of Assosiates Degree.
