The City School
Kylie King has extensive experience in education and youth development, currently serving as a Middle School Language Arts Teacher at The City School in Philadelphia since August 2012. Prior to this, Kylie worked as a Good Shepherd Volunteer and Aiming High Coordinator at Good Shepherd Services, where responsibilities included coordinating after-school programs for at-risk students, developing diverse curricula, and establishing community partnerships. Kylie has also held positions such as Vice President of Communications at Bicycles Against Poverty and served as a Teacher Assistant and Research Assistant at the Danish Institute of Study. With a strong foundation in fundraising and student leadership demonstrated through involvement in the Bucknell Brigade to Nicaragua, Kylie has effectively engaged in curriculum development and community service initiatives across various contexts. Kylie holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Education from Bucknell University.

The City School's mission is to train students’ minds, disciple their hearts and bring light to the city—one child at a time. We accomplish our mission by remaining steadfast to our five core commitments to Jesus, shalom, the city, excellence and accessibility. Because of Jesus, we are committed to shalom in the city through excellent and accessible education. Through our merger (Philadelphia Mennonite High School merged with The City School in the summer of 2014), we are now reaching over 380 students in grades pre-K through 12 from across the City of Philadelphia at three different campuses! Through our commitments we hope to build students of excellence skilled in leadership with hearts for serving and seeking shalom in their city.
