Frederick E. Bidwell

Frederick E. Bidwell is the executive director and CEO of FRONT Exhibition Company, a nonprofit that plans and presents FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art, which celebrated its debut edition in 2018. After a 35-year career as an advertising and marketing entrepreneur, he and his wife established the Fred and Laura Ruth Bidwell Foundation in 2011. Two years later, the Bidwell Foundation opened Transformer Station, a contemporary art exhibition space on Cleveland’s West Side. Bidwell served twice as board president of the Akron Art Museum and serves as board chair for the Arts and Culture Action Committee. Currently, he also sits on the boards of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and the Cleveland Museum of Art, as well as the Visiting Committee of the Allen Memorial Art Museum. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College.
