Lin Liu started their work experience as an Instructor (Teaching Assistant) for the Center for Integrative Studies–General Science at Michigan State University from January 2017 to December 2017. They then worked as a Research Assistant at Michigan State University from March 2013 to August 2020, conducting research on carbon sequestration and crop yield. Lin Liu also worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota from August 2020 to July 2021, where they built a machine learning model to predict soil organic carbon changes. Currently, Lin Liu is the Data Scientist at Climate, starting in July 2021, and later transitioned to the role of Data Strategy Lead in July 2022.
Lin Liu completed a Dual Major Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Michigan State University in the fields of Environmental GeoSciences and Environmental Science & Policy from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, Lin obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Geosciences from Michigan State University from 2012 to 2015. Lin's undergraduate studies were at Sichuan University from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science. Lin also participated in a study abroad program at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2010 and 2011, focusing on Environmental Science. Additionally, Lin has obtained a certification in Creative Problem Solving from Coursera.
