Gayle Smith has an extensive work experience in the fashion and lifestyle industry. Gayle started their career in 1996 as a Senior Designer Women's Sportswear/ Denim at Polo Jeans, Ralph Lauren. In 1997, they moved to Mark Eisen as Creative Director Women's Collections. From 2000 to 2003, they worked at L Brands as Design Director. In 2003, they joined PINK / Victoria's Secret at Limited Design Services as VP Design/ Brand Voice. In 2007, they worked as VP Level Consultant - Creative Director I Brand Strategist at Edun Americas Inc. From 2010 to 2013, they were Executive Director of Women's Design at Urban Outfitters. From 2015 to 2016, they were VP Global Trend & Concept at Gap Inc. In 2016, they worked at Smith Bureau as Creative Director I Brand Strategist I Design Leader. Finally, from 2017 to present, they are VP Design, Concept, Brand Strategy - Consumer Brands at Clique, one of Fast Company's "50 Most Innovative Companies".

Gayle Smith obtained a 1st Class B.A. (Honors) in Fashion Design from Kingston University. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications from LinkedIn in October of 2016; one from Debbie Millman on Branding, Design Matters, and Personal Work, and one from Neil Blumenthal on Branding.
