Valerie Borders has been in the healthcare industry since 2005. valerie began their career at Surgery Partners, LLC as a Coding Manager. In 2012, they moved to Altegra Health as a Project Coder. In 2013, they joined The Coding Network as an Ambularoty Surgery Center Compliance Auditor and Ambulatory Surgery Center Coding Auditor. In these roles, they were responsible for auditing coders for the many clients that The Coding Network services, ensuring that they are coding accurately based on the ASC outpatient guidelines.

Valerie Borders obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) Liberal Arts and HIM degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician from Hillsborough Community College between 2000 and 2004. In 2005, they obtained a CPC, CPC-H, CASCC certification from AAPC. In 2014, they obtained an APPROVED ICD 10 TRAINER certification from AHIMA.
