Position Overview: As a Certified General Appraisal Course Developer, you are responsible for developing and refining educational materials, courses, and programs that align with our organizational objectives and meet the needs of our appraiser audiences. As a content contributor and subject matter expert, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and depth of content produced by our marketing team, which adds additional value to our audiences. Your expertise will contribute to creating high-quality, informative, and engaging materials across various channels. What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning objectives, goals, and requirements.
  • Design and develop comprehensive curricula for various appraisal educational levels of qualifying and continuing education, and professional development.
  • Research, gather, and organize relevant content and resources for course development.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to create engaging and interactive learning materials using various formats and technologies.
  • Ensure content is up-to-date, accurate, and relevant to our audience(s).
  • Gather feedback and refine courses through iterative processes based on evaluations and assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with teams to ensure alignment with project timelines and goals.
  • Analyze data and feedback to make data-driven improvements to courses and materials.
  • Stay updated on educational trends, technologies, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Open to employing various educational formats, such as podcasts, webinars, videos, demonstrations, case studies, and exercises.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide and inform the creation of accurate and comprehensive marketing content for various channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing content writers to ensure the incorporation of accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices within the real estate appraisal industry.
  • Conduct research to validate information and ensure its credibility.
  • Review and edit content to ensure it aligns with industry standards, organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and Company guidelines.
  • Identify and correct inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or gaps in information.
  • Work closely with marketing content creators, editors, and other stakeholders to understand content requirements and objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving the overall quality and impact of marketing content.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing content strategies based on your expertise and industry insights.
  • Strategize and collaborate with marketing content authors to align content with organizational goals and audience needs and best practices for continuous improvement.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or related field; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of commercial experience in real estate property appraisal with a deep understanding of real estate appraisal principles and practices is essential.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience related to curriculum writing and/or appraisal teaching.
  • Active Certified General appraiser license is required with demonstrated expertise in valuing various commercial property types.
  • Experience developing educational materials, such as courses, training modules, or instructional content; must possess knowledge of curriculum development, learning objectives, and effective assessment strategies.
  • Must have proficiency with USPAP, appraisal industry guidelines, and regulations to ensure course content aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • A passion for problem-solving, comfort with ambiguity, and creativity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven samples of clear and concise writing.
  • In-depth knowledge of appraisal methodologies, techniques, and approaches across various property types and appraisal assignments.
  • Attention to detail when creating course content, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying abreast of changes in appraisal practices, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaboration with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders during the course development process.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback from learners, instructors, and industry experts to improve course content and instructional design continuously.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Distance Education Instructor
  • Appraiser Qualifications Board Certified USPAP Instructor
  • Experience with SharePoint
