David Fenstermacher

David Fenstermacher currently serves as the Senior Director of Research and Medical Affairs at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a position held since February 2023. Previously, Fenstermacher held executive roles at Health Catalyst as Vice President in 2022, and at DNAnexus as Vice President of Precision Medicine and Data Sciences from 2019 to 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of R&D Bioinformatics at MedImmune and Chief Research Information Officer at Virginia Commonwealth University. Additionally, Fenstermacher was the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and Director of the Biomedical Informatics Shared Resource at the University of Pennsylvania. Fenstermacher also directed the UNC-CH Center for BioInformatics from 1998 to 2003 and has an extensive academic background in molecular biology and genetics, earning a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Biology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
