Patrick Carter

Patrick Carter has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. Patrick is currently serving as the Head of Global Health Technology at The Commons Project Foundation since 2022. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at ChartSpan Medical Technologies, including Chief Medical Officer, Chief Medical Integration Officer, Advisory Board Member, and Chief Technology Officer from 2011 to 2022.

Patrick also worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant at Vidant Duplin Hospital from 2014 to 2015 and at RURAL ACCESS MEDICAL PROVIDERS from 2012 to 2014. In addition, they served as the Department Chair & Faculty at East Carolina University from 2010 to 2012, where they conducted professional development sessions and mentored staff.

Earlier in their career, Patrick worked as the Chief Operating Officer at RURAL ACCESS MEDICAL PROVIDERS from 2006 to 2010. Patrick also gained experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant at Washington County Hospital from 2003 to 2006, Cleveland Regional Medical Center in 2003, Bertie Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2003, and as a Primary Care Physician Assistant at Kepka Family Practice from 1997 to 1999.

Throughout their career, Patrick has assessed, diagnosed, and treated emergency and chronic medical conditions. Patrick has collaborated with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and has conducted advanced medical procedures in emergency situations.

Patrick Carter completed a Surgical Residency for Physician Assistants at Yale University School of Medicine from 1999 to 2000. Patrick then pursued a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wichita State University, which they attended from 1995 to 1997. Before their undergraduate studies, Patrick obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Organismal Biology from The University of Kansas, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. In addition to their educational background, Patrick also holds certifications in Amazon Web Services, including Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate, and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate.
